Ongoing Games Overview 25-03-26

Greetings, Alchemists!

Once again, we gather this week to discuss the state of the current matches. Just as we did in last week's blog, we’ll be commenting on what’s been happening using only publicly available information. We do this to ensure the games remain balanced, as in the world of Cladia, information is more valuable than Talisman fragments.

This week, the active matches are "Novato Party", "Partida Masiva", and "Team Battle!". Meanwhile "Nuevitos y Tranquilitos" came to an end last Friday.

1. Novato Party

"Novato Party" is a match reserved exclusively for new Alchemists. This means only players who have never completed a full game of Master of Cladia, or who have only tried the campaign, were admitted. It is, so to speak, their first contact with the wonderful world of Cladia. It’s the perfect place for them to experiment and learn the game mechanics without the pressure that veteran players might exert.

For now, it seems that—just like last week—Rascor3000 continues to lead. He is not only standing out in terms of Threat level but is also the only human player who has managed to secure a Talisman fragment.

For now, this is the player ranking as of Turn 13

As we can see, Rascor3000 remains in first place, not only due to his Threat level but also because he is the only human player who has secured a Talisman fragment.

2. Partida Masiva

As we mentioned in last week's blog, this "Partida Masiva" is a record-breaking game in the world of Cladia, as it features the highest number of human players we have ever seen in a single match to date.

This week, Rezo is the leading player in terms of both Threat level and number of Talismans.

If we look solely at Threat, the top player is, once again, Jaxun.

Since the match is only at Turn 10, there isn't much more to discuss yet, but it appears that Toboteb and Salchiperro have clashed in a battle for control over one of the neutral regions. And in Turn 12, Obi and Tim have died... but we don't know at whose hands, although suspicions are on Jaxun, as always.

Jonay, Rezo, Salchiperro (playing as AlientoDeBallena in this match), XaxitoEnjoyer, and Rascor have all secured the Talisman from their respective regions.

3. Team Battle!

As we mentioned last week, Team Battle! is a rather unique match. It is only the second team-based game ever played in the world of Master of Cladia. As we’ve noted before, the previous match played in this format holds the record for the longest game in the history of Master of Cladia, lasting a total of 70 turns. Let’s hope this match doesn't turn out to be quite that long!

This is the player Threat level up to Turn 10:

We can see that Aarón has been leading the Threat ranking since Turn 1. Although Toboteb, Salchiperro, and Raimon have closed the gap in recent turns, he still leads the second-place player, Toboteb, by more than 9,000 points.

However, since this is a team-based match, we are going to create another chart showing the Combined Threat (the sum of the threat levels of both team members) and the Average Threat per team (the sum of both members' threat divided by 2).

Through "Combined Threat", we can see how well the group is performing based on its members "individually", while the Average Threat allows us to see the group’s progress as a unified whole.

We have created some small charts using Jaxun’s magic book, "Eksel", to visually compare the groups' performance in terms of combined threat.

Here you can see the comparison of the teams' Average Threat.

It seems that, for the moment, Ayami and Aarón’s team is in the lead, closely followed by Toboteb and Raimon’s team. However, if we look at the player rankings within the match, we can see that two groups already hold two Talismans: both the Toboteb & Tim duo and the JonatanGil & Lcapote team have secured two Talismans each.

In this match, there are 8 Talismans scattered throughout the world; therefore, by Turn 11, there is only one uncollected Talisman left in the wild.

4. Nuevitos y Tranquilitos

And finally, the match that has come to an end: "Nuevitos y Tranquilitos." In this case, exactly what we had feared from the beginning has happened. Jonay managed to complete the Apotheosis he cast, securing his victory.

Basically, Jonay was counting down the turns to destroy the tower that Grace had built turns ago, timing the strike for Turn 57. Consequently, Grace could no longer make it in time... She would have had to rebuild the tower (1 turn), move the dragons (another turn, by the end of which Jonay would have already won), and finally fight on the last turn.

Grace made the critical mistake of building the tower in Jonay’s region before sending her dragons... In other words, what she should have done was wait to build until she was ready for the definitive attack. For the newcomers: the turn you build a tower, it cannot be discovered. This means you can build, and on the next turn, move your dragons peacefully; the other player will, at earliest, discover the tower the moment your dragons land. By then, the defender can do nothing but brace for the impact.

This was the Threat distribution throughout the 60 turns of the match:

This is how the ranking stood on the last turn; this screenshot is from Jonay’s account... As we can see, after so many turns, the amount of Gold the players had accumulated was absolutely overwhelming.

5. Conclusion

That is all for this week, Alchemists! Except for the "Nuevitos y Tranquilitos" match, all the games are just beginning, so this summary has been a bit less intense than previous ones... Most likely, next week’s update will be a much more action-packed recap!
