Dev Diary 18-03-2026: The future of Master of Cladia

Alchemists!

Welcome once again to the weekly post with updates on Master of Cladia. This week we will change the focus a bit and talk about some of the changes we have planned for the future and that we hope to release during the year.

Within the Master of Cladia development team we have a long list of improvements and changes that we would like to implement to make the game a better product. Unfortunately, it is impossible to work on everything at the same time. For this reason, we usually organize this list of tasks so that the most important ones are handled first, while smaller changes remain deep in the list and will most likely stay there until someone remembers that they exist.

For that reason, today we would like to use this space to talk about some of the changes and improvements we are currently working on, as well as others that are part of our future plans.

Modernized Strategic Map

One of our highest priorities for this year is improving the graphical quality and usability of the core element of Master of Cladia: the strategic map. From the development team we are aware that, despite being the main focus of the game, the strategic map still has graphical aspects that do not meet the standards of a strategy game.

For this reason, our team has been working on it since the beginning of this year. It will be a demanding task that may require changes to the internal systems in order to allow greater expressiveness and creative freedom for the art team.

Unfortunately, we still do not have enough material to show a preview, but rest assured that the wait will be worth it.

Achievement System

While a large part of the team is focused on improving the quality of the strategic map, some of the team is currently designing an achievement system mainly focused on multiplayer. It is still in an early stage of development, but we can already share some of the goals we have with this system:

  • Rewards for players: The achievement system opens the door for us to introduce the first cosmetic rewards in the game. Who wouldn’t like to obtain the shield of Kanendulas after defeating him in combat 100 times?
  • Steam integration: The PC version will include direct support for Steam achievements.
  • Statistics: The achievement system will be a great opportunity to display internal game statistics that would normally not be particularly relevant during a match.

New Illustrations and Perk Restructuring

Not all of the changes are planned to arrive by the end of this year. Our art team is currently working on improving the visual quality of the game’s perks. One of the most common complaints from the community is the lack of visual clarity in many of the perks, and for this reason it has been decided to change not only the illustrations, but also the overall structure of the perks, clearly indicating perk families as well as the level progression that certain perks follow.

The team has made great progress so far, so you can expect more information about this restructuring in the coming weeks.
